To install and use 1.11.2 mods, you will need to create a 1.11.2 profile. At the bottom left of the image above, you can see I have selected my Forge and Liteloader profile for 1.11.2, which contains a set of mods using these respective modloaders, but we’ll get more into what those are in another segment of the series. This is great if you are playing single player as it means you get the latest features straight away, but it’s not so good if you play on servers that may not be immediately compatible. With this, every time Mojang releases an update your launcher will download it without any extra steps required. You can change the version name of your profiles to anything you like but I recommend using the version number at the start of each name to help keep things organized.įresh installations of Minecraft only have one profile that will automatically update to use the latest version of the game. The next image shows the editor with all the profiles I have created. Editing and managing can be done from both menus, but you can only delete profiles (by right-clicking them) in the editor. The selector shows the profile that you will load when you click Play.
